Au Revoir 2009

Au Revoir 2009! Goodbye. So long. I will not see you later!

It's been a year filled with fantastic highs and less than lovely lows. In the end, 2009 taught me that optimism and positivity do reign supreme. It also taught me my most important life lesson - LOVE is infinite. Just when you think your heart is full, true unconditional love opens up new valves and floods every inch with more love than you ever thought you could know.

Happy New Year to you all! I wish you nothing but love, health and laughter in 2010.

Thanks for sharing your time with me. See you next year!

XOXO Sari

That Girl: Joanna Hillman

We all had one. You know, that girl in high school who you admired - cool, beautiful and full of confidence. For me, that was always Joanna Hillman. Looks like these days there is even more for me to admire with her role as Senior Fashion Market Editor at Harper's Bazaar. She's rocking a killer job and the killer wardrobe that comes with it. Her style is the perfect blend of polish and edge and I love every bit of it! Best of all, you will find no devil wearing Prada here - Joanna has always been a seriously sweet person and I wish her all the best and continued success!

Polka Dotted

Loving this photo shoot from Morning Beauty, especially all the polka dots! I just bought a similar pair of black tights with white polka dots (mine have much smaller dots). I haven't wore them yet but now I am feeling very inspired to.

When life gives you...

a whole lot of After Eight sticks. Make After Eight Brownies!!!

Lazy Sunday Luv

There is nothing that I love more than a lazy Sunday (especially when I don't have to be in the office on Monday!). How can you beat relaxing on the couch in comfy sweats, watching a movie or reading a magazine with a cup of hot tea in your hand. If only every day could be like this (too bad life gets in the way). I wish that life always felt like these beautiful photos from Luv Publishing. They personify a lazy Sunday - calm with a muted elegance that is totally natural and not the slightest bit forced.

What a small sweet world!

Don't you love when you realize what a small world it is? In blogland, this has happened to me twice. The first was when I fell for The World According to Jessica Clare and then realized that I knew the author. The second occurrence happened to me just last night. I was catching up on my favourite blogs and ended up on Bakerella (if you haven't been - go!). From there, I landed on Mel's Sweet Treats. To my surprise, Melissa was someone I have known for quite some time. Check out some of her adorable, mouth-watering creations. I'll admit, I am a little jealous of her skills (and her camera). Maybe if I am lucky, she will teach me some of her tips and tricks!

Wanna hear a sweet story? Check out this post on Bakerella to read all about Melissa's engagement surprise.

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Toronto is a beautiful city to live in - except that our winters are bitter cold! I will say, I do love waking up to the first snowfall and seeing the world outside my window blanketed in sheets of prestine white. Everything seems so quiet and serene... then it sinks in that it's well below freezing outside and the minute I walk out my door I am going to wish I was back in bed. Since hibernating for 4 months isn't all that practical, preparing yourself with quality winter essentials is crucial to making it through a Canadian winter. Here are some of the pieces making it onto my winter survival list this season.

1. Ugg Adirondack Boots - $250.00
2. Love Quotes Scarf in Peace - $85.00
3. Leather and Fur Avaitor Hat - $54.95
4. Parajumper W-Long Bear Parka - $803.00
5. Burberry Leather Studded Gloves - $275.00
6. Ray Ban Outdoorsmen Aviators - $139.00

Everyone Keep Calm

Unless you've been living under a rock - you have seen the Keep Calm and Carry On poster some where at some time. It's been on my wish list for a long time. You would think that since I could buy one on Etsy for $20 - I would have grabbed one by now. Problem is, I can't decide what colour I want it in! My first choice was originally canary yellow. Now I'm leaning towards a more neutral colour and hanging it in an ornate frame for some drama. I love seeing what other people are doing with theirs. What colour would you get?

In The Loop

Some very sweet friends just gave us these fantastic candle sticks as a house warming gift. The Loop candelabra is inspired by the Fibonacci curve that is seen throughout nature and looks correct and balanced to the human eye. I just think they look beautiful. I would love to pick up a few more sets to twist together like the ones in these images.
