Nuts for Nougat

My boyfriend is South African (but ironically he looks Israeli). Having been together for almost 7 years now, I consider myself South African by association. I even say "shame" more than he does. Over the years, he has introduced me to many culinary delights from his homeland. While most are delicious (sorry, I still don't like biltong), my favourite is Sally William's Nougat. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It never occurred to me to make nougat myself until I saw this recipe on TasteSpotting. I definitely need to attempt this recipe. If I can pull it off, I think his family is going to be pretty darn impressed. Wish me luck!
